Are your fans thermostatically controlled? That might be your problem. Too high of temperature passes and they come on too late. I run my car with a 160* thermostat. My fans are not thermostatically controlled just on when the ignition is on. Also, if traffic is completely stopped, say for an accident, I will shut my car off. I also will throw it in neutral when traffic stops and let it idle. So far so good, I’ve been in a few traffic jams and it never gets over 190. I also don’t have or run A/C.
