    Default cooling system hose clamps

Have spent countless hours on YouTube trying to learn what I can, intending to make #3018 into a presentable driver. I am collecting parts to replace all the disposable components in the brake, ignition and cooling systems. I know the clamps for the radiator and by pass hoses are not correct. The technical manual shows a drawing for the radiator clamps as using the tower style, no mention of the by pass. Perused much engine film and clamps are all over the place, even on what appear to be well restored, if not correct, examples. My heater hoses, which are rock hard, use the spring type clamps and don't appear to have ever been changed. would appreciate input from the experts. thanks, George Perry

    That’s what they used.

I have a bunch of factory photos that have some sharp details, but the best thing to do is buy the Authenticity manual and built to that. While there was some pushback on what's authentic and what wasn't, the Editor won out over the people that were actually there. That's the problem. It's alway been the editors that change history to their own views. Whether accurate, or not, the cost of the manual in nothing compared the cost of repairing or repainting something that's spelled out in the manual.

Keep in mind that the type of screws was important to assembly, but their finish and types of hose clamps could easily vary day to day depending on supply, more than anything else. I have a copy of the original build manual and nowhere in does it spell out tower or wire claps in any given position. I think you're shooting at a moving target. I think a car built to the gold standard is far more important than searching
the internet trying to establish facts, when there aren't any. Build to the standard and everyone will respect what you've done. That's my $.02.
