Paint thickness

Does anyone know what the paint thickness on a stock paint job on a 56 continental is supposed to be. I can't find any info. I want to put a paint gauge on the car but i have no reference point . Thanks

A total of four double coats of laquer were originally applied.

Would we be able to know how many millimeters that would be? Thanks

This will be less than 1 mm! Maybe 0.3 - 0.4 mm, not more.
