Engine is continental gold over Lincoln green.... seems to be green bellhousing.... what color is the gearbox?
Jack has the gold spray, who carries the other colors?

Gold with hint of green - entire engine, bellhousing and transmission pan, Jack's spray paint is the factory colour.
Black - transmission casing, ducting for torque converter, gear change guard, fan, radiator, starter motor, generator, steering pump, carb manifold
The Continental Mark II Authenticity Manual (the basis for LCOC judging) has the following:
Converter Housing (aluminum)-unpainted
Man Gear box - black or unpainted
Extension (aluminum) - unpainted
Dip Stick tube - black
My bell housing is unpainted. I think my main gear box is black. I will need to get it up on a lift to check the extension.

Correction, looking at mine the bell housing is indeed unpainted.

Hello,
I restored my transmission as requested from the authenticity manual. These were also the colors of the transmission before the restoration.

I checked my transmission extension. It is like the bell housing, unpainted.

I was led to believe the '56 bell housing was aluminum because it was air cooled and the '57 were iron because they were liquid cooled. The '57 I'm working on has a mess of acid drippings and clear coat on an aluminum housing. I think I'll blast it and do further research. I can simply paint it black if it's supposed to be iron. If there is a functional difference, I don't see one.

I just remembered where I saw this. This late '57 has an aluminum bell housing when the parts book said it should be iron if it has a steel converter.
