My car has a little play in the steering box. I’m wondering how to eliminate this so the car won’t wander.
Is there larger balls for the recirculating device?
Is there some instructions about how to adjust the steering box to eliminate the play?

On the power steering box top cover ,their is an adjusting screw. loosen the nut ,turn the screw in till play is gone .retighten screw. This is only on the 56 steering box.

And do not forget to turn the steering from lock to lock when you tighten the the adjustment screw to check for any roughness or binding.

And better still gently rock the wheel back and forth with somebody examining ALL steering components for wear very closely. It's the same senario of the carburator often being blamed for a poor running engine when ignition and general engine condition is in fact the cause.
