I was over at a local collectors house and he had just acquired a few items from an estate and this jack was sitting there. I said" I think that is a mark II jack" but am not "sure"

So here are some pics, is it?

Right type wrong hook connection. That may be from a 40's Ford jousting by the black color and the cast iron integral bumper hook.

Here is a picture of Mad Scientist's jack. Note the large hook - it detaches from the jack itself.

And if things aren't confusing enough it could even be for a 1949-51 Mercury OR even a 1952 Mercury:confused:
My OEM parts manual for my 50 Merc. lists 6H 17080 (crank type) for 49-51 or 1H 17080-A (two leg crank type with 2 1/2" lifting lip) for just the 51
or an LA 17080-A(two leg crank type with 3- 3/4" lifting lip) for the 52.
I looked long enough for a proper jack for my Mark II and i'm certainly looking for one for my Mercury as well;)
Yes I'm obviously a sucker for punishment:o

Some of the other types of jacks certainly leave a great deal to be desired as well. Never used mine but other than possibly bending the bumper how good is the crank?
