I got asked an excellent question that I couldn't answer. Given that AC was the only option, what do the AC vs Non-AC production numbers look like? I assume for '56-'57 they are probably scewed heavily toward 57 AC cars. And regional sales, LA vs Midwest? Does anybody have some kind of idea what numbers may indicate?

With the parts car being for sale on Buy/Sell listed as non A/C I wondered the same thing. I figured that subject had already been asked on the forum. But since you brought it up, I will add that I am curious as well.
I would think at least 65% of buyers opted for A/C, maybe higher.

That's a pretty good guesstimate!
I haven't looked at this before, and I may be off a unit or two but here are the Mark II AC Production Yearly Counts (so far):
TOTAL MARK IIs Produced - 3005
TOTAL MARK IIs WITH AC - 1825
PERCENT AC's OF TOTAL - 61%
CALENDAR YEAR OF AC PRODUCTION:
1955 - 540
1956 - 963
1957 - 322
TOTAL - 1825

Educated guess. Modern A/C was a production option in 1953. I search a lot of cars and find few cars with a/c in the 50's but the Continental is a cut above.
I suspected that the 1955 produced cars would have less A/C cars, given that the Division wanted to get cars out there.

This posting is for those who have asked about the production numbers of those units equipped with factory Air conditioning A/C.
Please see above.
