Forum Members:

Unfortunately, I wish to share with the members of our forum the passing of longtime MKII owner Ron Ross of Ambler PA.
Ron was a founding member of the Philadelphia Region of the LCOC.
Some of you may have known Ron as he and his good friend Ray Bickert parted out many MK II?s and provided parts and good advice to folks all over the world.
I had the pleasure of knowing Ron for nearly 30 years as a fellow member of the Philadelphia region, and a good friend.
He encouraged me to buy Ray Bickert's car, #2248 in 2021. I would not have purchased the car without knowing that Ron was on the other end of the phone to help.

If you look on the forum you will see a little information on 3801. It says that this car was completely submerged in the 1972 hurricane Agnes flood that hit eastern and central Pennsylvania very hard. That is true! A few year later Ron purchased the car (submarine) and began a 10 year restoration. As a measure of just how good his work was, he won an LCOC primary first (+90 points out of 100) in 2007.

Attached is a picture of 3801 a few years ago at a local show.

I am truly sorry to learn about Ron's passing.

I have known Ron since 1985, have visited him and have ridden in his #3801. Ron was a great guy and was always willing to help anyone with their Mark II issues.

We will all miss Ron!
