Interesting factoid. The Continental Motor Company was based in Muskegon, MI, but had an engine plant in Detroit as they supplied engines to 200+ makers of cars and other industrial equipment including generators and pumps. They also made aircraft engine in large numbers. The aircraft engines had painted gold engine parts and props painted in Continental Gold. The proximity of that plant to the Lincoln engine plant may tell the story of how an outside supplier got the paint supply contract for 3,000 engines painted after run-in at the Lincoln factory, not Continental's plant. You wouldn't paint a production engine before it was run-in without the black accessories added at the Continental assembly plant.
In addition they make spray bombs, but they can't be shipped by air.
